Q & A

What was your first impression of Synapse?
“I was honestly a little bit sceptical. There seems to be a constant stream of people ‘shaking up’ the PR industry lately and saying they have ‘solutions’, but so many are either prohibitively expensive, or just repackaging solutions that are already out there. However, once I logged on I realised it had a bit more potential than a lot of the other options out there. Synapse is clearly still in its infancy, but already it has proven a much better, genuinely valuable resource than other options, and I’m glad to have it in my toolkit!”

What success have you had with Synapse?
So some have been published without the pitches being accepted, but we’ve had great success overall, nabbing 110+ links, including a viral campaign that got 105 links alone. Viral Campaign: 105 links with an average of DR60, DA57 and 3.3m traffic for a niche property finance client. Sites include: MSN, Yahoo, Bury Times, Basingstoke Gazette, Wimbledon Guardian etc. For a boiler installation client, we’ve gained around 5 links across big sites like The Daily Express.

How did it feel using Synapse to pitch instead of email?

While there is an element of waiting around with Synapse, I quite like the fact that I can upload something and ‘set it and forget it’. Outreach takes up quite a lot of my time, especially if I need to adjust and resend out an old campaign with a new media list. Being able to pop content on Synapse means I constantly have potential opportunities available as long as my content is live on the marketplace. This saves me valuable time per link, which is important in the fast-moving sector of PR!
